A brilliant guitarist whose foundations are in the swing music of Django Reinhardt, Bucky Pizzarelli and Johnny Smith, Frank Vignola has been an important player since the late 1980s, working along the way with the Concord Jazz Collective (which also had guitarists Howard Alden and Jimmy Bruno), Ken Peplowski, Susannah McCorkle, Joey DeFrancesco, Mark O’Connor and many others.
In 2011 he teamed up with fellow guitarist Vinny Raniolo for a dazzling version of “Tico Tico” which takes the Brazilian song into some unexpected areas.
