In a excerpt from the film documentary “Arthur Crudup: Born in the Blues”, the soft spoken blues singer performs at his home in Frankton, Virginia in 1973.

Unlike most composers of numerous hit records Arthur Crudup wasn’t a big name who is booked at sold out festivals. The record industry robbed him of his royalties when his songs made fortunes for others most notably Elvis Presley. Seen here playing the blues from the confines of his porch Crudup eked out a meager existence farming, an undeserved life of hardship that was not his choice.
