One of the great pleasures of producing Jazz on the Tube is all the young people we hear from.
One of them hipped us to the annual Essentially Ellington competition held by Jazz at Lincoln Center for high school jazz bands.
Prepare to have your socks blown off by this group. Remember, they’re all teenagers and drawn exclusively from a small city in Wisconsin.
If jazz in America’s classical music, these kids and this school give it its proper due.
