Jazz guitar legend Charlie Byrd performs “Jitterbug Waltz” in 1979. On the North American scene, Byrd would become synonymous with bossa nova — helping to take the sounds of Brazil onto another continent.

Composed in 1942 by Fats Waller and His Rhythm, “Jitterbug Waltz” has received a number of covers of the years – including from Erroll Garner and Eric Dolphy.
